Getting your kids to listen: Post 2 of 4

I get it.. When your babe is not listening to you, it can become DRAINING and you quickly realize that this is why mommy drinks wine 😂.

I had a momma recently come to me with the following statement

“Every time I ask Scarlett if she can brush her teeth, she always responds with a “No!” and just continues playing.”

How to get your kids to brush their teeth

How many times have you presented an instruction in a form of a question? All. The. Time, right?! This was something I had to definitely retrain myself to not do. It wasn’t until I was working with older students that I realized the challenges of doing this because guess what… They can straight up tell me NO when I didn’t intend for it to be a question. If you present statements in a form of a command instead of a question, it presents less of a chance for your child to come back with a sassy “No!” Try this tip this week and see if it makes a difference.
